Joyce Totte
of Johnson City
Joyce Totte, 81 years, went to be with her Lord on Monday morning, October 6, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward L. Totte in 2001. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Edward Fedish, Binghamton; four grandsons, Captain Jason Fedish, US Army, Steven Fedish, Brian Fedish and Kevin Fedish; a brother, Edward Liptak and his wife, Ruth, Conn.; nephews and many special friends. She was a retired assistant nursing director for the Willow Point Nursing Home. She enjoyed taking care of the babies at Grand Care at the Hilltop Nursing Home. She also enjoyed reading to the second graders at Johnson City Elementary School. She was a member of the Colesville Rotary Club.
The family will receive friends at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton, on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be offered by the Rev. Edward Zandy on Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Hilltop Nursing Campus Auditorium, 286 Deyo Hill Road, Johnson City. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the compassionate care given to Joyce by Cindy, her nurse and Linda, her caregiver from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joyce's memory to Grand Care, 286 Deyo Hill Road, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or to the charity of one's choice.

I had the pleasure of knowing both Joyce and Ed Totte. I visited with them at many Rotary International conferences and always enjoyed their warmth and friendship. We would always chat about our common Bridgeport connection.
May Joyce and Ed's family find comfort in joy which they gave to others.
