Of course, we had to have a French name in her class. She knew me as Monique. :)
Does anybody know what came of Mlle's blog? "living to breathe" I'm not sure the last time I accessed it, but her writing there is something I'm longing for. Her light would be appreciated in these dark and gray times.

Im sorry you had to go so soon, I'll never forget you. You were always so happy when teaching, with your little journals that you had us translate from french to english about what was going on in your life. Thank you for all that you have taught me. May you spread the french language throughout heaven and also your happiness and energy that you always brought with you.

Mrs. Mott-Arotsky was a great teacher, always trying to transform the classroom into some scene from Paris to get us interested. To this day the lyrics of "Aux Champs Elysees" pop into my head. And I still make pain chocolat! Thank you for being a great teacher in a small school and taking the time and effort to take a bunch of high schoolers to Les Mis in NYC. I know my classmates, my family and myself have been thinking about you for a long time and are saddened by the end of your battle. You will be missed.

May you be at peace! You were a wonderful teacher with such enthusiasm it was inspiring. It has been 12 years since I was in your class but you are a teacher a student can never forget! God Bless you and your family! You will be missed deeply.

Though I didn't know Marge long, I knew her well. We were blessed to have our lives intermingle, for that we both said "Thank you Jaci", and Thank God.
Having gone through lung transplant we could share much. I learned so much frem her, about inner strength. She once told me that, through her illness, she has met some of the most wonderful people in the world.
Marge is breathing easy now,
Thank you, for being a big part of our lives. We will miss you

As a Wegeners patient myself (with lung and brain involvement) I am particularly saddened by our loss. Marjorie was always full of information and always had a positive attitude. She was always ready to toss a life line if someone should need one. Marjorie...goodness is eternal. Rest peacefully.

What can I say... I love Madame like I love my Family. The memories I have of her not only teaching, but running around Europe will stay with me forever. Le petite prince was her favorite and I'll always think of her when I watch/read it.
The biggest thing I remember from her, that has changed my life and I think is important for everyone to know, was something she told me one stormy day in Paris, She told me that "too many people wait to go on adventures, they wait for when they 'retire'.. .and what a mistake that is... go on adventures as often as you can, because you don't know what the future holds and you want to make sure you live your life to the fullest."
The relief I have now... is to know that Madame has lived by these words of wisdom, and because of it, has done things in her life that some people can only dream about.. and I was lucky to have been there through some of it.
Thank you for everything you've given me Madame... When I travel.. or find myself in places unknown... I always think of you. Thank you.

Marge was a good friend to my sister, Beth Lawson, and I met her through her. I remember her as being a bubbly, happy and kind person, who lit up a room when she entered. My deepest condolences to her family.

I will forever be grateful that our "sister" Marge was able to come to our sorority meeting in September....that will be one of my fondest memories of this truly inspirational woman. We shared many long chats on our way to meetings and talking AND listening were just two of her many incredible talents. Sharing jokes and supporting each other in times of crisis these last few months made me feel closer to her, but that is what she did.....made everyone feel special and important. The world is a sadder place, but heaven is so lucky to have her. Marge, Miss Betty, as you always jokingly called me, will miss you.

Hands down one of the best, most original and creative teachers out there. Mlle Mott inspired her students (or me, at least) to be independent thinkers, and go forth in the world with intention and courage. She certainly led by example. Can't say I've yet met another person to have hitch-hiked around France!
Her cackling snort/laugh will forever be echoing in my loving thoughts of her.
My condolances and prayers are with her family and friends as they remember the life of our Mlle.
