Stephie G. Schwehm
of Binghamton
Aunt Stephie H. (Slavetskas) Schwehm passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 11, 2008, thirteen days prior to her 94th birthday. She was predeceased by her parents, Adam Slaweckas and Nellie Slavetsky; her husband, Conrad Schwehm; sister-in-law, Rosalie Slavetskas; and niece, Joan Slavetskas. She is survived by her only brother, Joseph John Slavetskas. She was so loved by her nieces, Anne Marie (Les) Distin, and Rita Slavetskas (wife of Emil Michaux); her nephews, Fr. Paul, James (Kim), Remy (Sherry), Joseph (Vickie), and Michael (Sue) Slavetskas. She had many great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was a retired employee of the Cigar Factory in Binghamton, Endicott-Johnson Corp., and finally, Director of Housekeeping at the Sheraton Hotel. Her smile and laughter will always be remembered. Aunt Stephie never forgot anyone's birthday. She loved Sylvia who did her hair for years, Lori, her landlord, and Dr. Wixom, who took care of her feet for years. Much appreciation is also given to all of the angels on 3-B South at Willow Point Nursing Care. Lastly, we cannot forget all of her friends from Hanks and Beansos.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, and at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. We will be receiving family and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Church of the Holy Trinity.

Dear Anne Marie, Les, and family,
We are so sorry for you in the passing of your Aunt Stephie. She will truly be missed. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers always. While tears come easily today, remember the happy tears of days spent with her, and cherish those memories. You were very helpful to her, and know everyone appreciated all your love and care of her. May God give you all comfort and peace now and in the future.
