John Stevens Obituary
of Deposit, New York
John W. Stevens, 68, a lifetime resident of Deposit, N.Y., died unexpectedly October 23, 2008 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, N.Y. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rose Stevens; three children and their spouses, John N. and Heather Stevens, Julia and Steve Hoyt and Rena and Eric Wallace; 6 grandchildren, Colby and Cheyanne, April, Steven and Amanda and Stacey; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Sophie. John worked for 28 years at Norbord Plant in Deposit. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was an outdoorsman and a member of the NRA.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 25, 2008, at the Zacharias Funeral Home in Deposit, with Rev. Nickolas Servetas, Rector of Christ Church in Deposit, officiating. Burial will Full Military Honors will follow at Hale Eddy Cemetery in Hale Eddy. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the Deposit Fire Department.
