Jennie Alden Obituary
of Conklin, New York
Jennie Marcella Alden, 81, of Conklin, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. She was born September 9, 1927 to Patsy and Daisy Zecca in Binghamton, New York. She was a retired IBM Endicott employee. She enjoyed her family, friends, dog (Maysue) and flowers. Jennie will be dearly missed by her son, James W. Alden and wife, Anne, Fort Mill, S.C.; two grandchildren, Amy Alden Donnelly and her husband, John, Edgewater, Md., Todd James Alden and his wife, Marlene, Davidson, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Elle Donnelly, Kelsea Donnelly, Christopher James Alden and Rocco James Alden; two sisters, Mary Higgins, Florida and Joyce VanWomer, Endwell, New York.
At Jennie's request, services will be private. Arrangements are by the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, New York. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Binghamton, New York 13790 (Fight Against Breast Cancer).

I am deeply sorry and sadden by the passing of Jennie. Jennie was a very special person and a joy to be with, she was a dear friend to me for many years. I will never forget our special days of "morning breakfasts and antique shopping". I will miss her a great deal. May your memories comfort you at this difficult time.

THE ALDEN FAMILY,
I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. JENNY WAS A GREAT NEIGHBOR FOR THE FEW YEARS THAT SHE LIVED HERE IN THE PARK. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL HOMEMAKER AND MADE HER PLACE LOOK GREAT. SHE WAS VERY PROUD OF HER HOME.
SHE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL HERE THAT CAME TO KNOW HER. SHE WAS A GENTLE CARING PERSON AND GAVE MY WIFE LOTS OF SUPPORT WHEN SHE WAS DYING FROM CANCER, AND SHE COMFORTED ME AFTER MY WIFE'S PASSING. SHE WAS A GOOD FRIEND AND I WILL MISS HER GREATLY , AS WILL THE CHILDREN IN THE PARK, WHO SHE TREATED WITH THE KINDNESS OF A GRANDMOTHER.

Dear Alden Family,
Paul and I are very sorry for your tremendous loss. Jennie was a bright spot in our lives. She was kind, gentle and soft spoken. She filled a huge void in my life after the loss of my Mother this year. She allowed me to "adopt" her. We cared deeply for Jennie and will miss her very much as will Maesue. Rest assured that Paul and I will give Maesue the same care that your Mom gave her everyday. Maesue is a treasure that your Mom loved.
We miss you, Jennie. Our hearts are breaking.
