William Robert "Bill" Franks
of Raleigh, N.C.
William Robert "Bill" Franks, 61, of 2112 Walnut Ridge Court, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at Rex Healthcare. William was born in Queens, NY on March 29, 1947 to William John Franks and the late Florence Bohne Franks. He was presently working with Barnhill Contractors in asphalt construction. Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy where he was on the USS Intrepid which participated in the recovery effort of Mercury-7. Surviving: wife, Patricia Doyle Franks; stepdaughters, Lori Ann Levy and her husband, Edgar, Youngsville, Patricia Ellen Barron, Berthoud, Colo.; grandchildren, Matthew Franks, Ryan Barron, Jason Barron, Ilyssa Levy, Patrick Barron, Graham Levy and Hunter Franks; father, William John Franks, Owego, N.Y.; sisters, Gail Franks, Donna Hall, both of Owego, N.Y.; brother, Robert Franks, Seattle, Wash. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Edward Barron Franks.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Tab Cosgrove, Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Wake Forest, officiating. The family will receive relatives from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, N.C. 27545. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's Street, Fourth Floor, Raleigh, N.C. 27605. The Franks family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the care given to their loved one by the Rex Healthcare Staff and his attending physicians, Dr. William Berry and Dr. Meena Mohan.
