Beatrice Jayne Harding, 88, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2007, at Elizabeth Church Manor. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Esther; brother, Robert Clift; and grandson, Stephen Manley. She is survived by daughter, Margaret Economides and husband, Ted, Vestal; son, Kenneth Harding and wife, Marcia, Grove City, Ohio; six grandchildren and eight-great-grandchildren. Bea was a member of the Assembly of God Church where she devoted her life to its teachings. She joined the church in 1935 when it was named Faith Tabernacle. She nurtured many young people in Sunday School, Bible Study Classes, was a leader in the School of Ministry. Bea was active in Christ Ambassadors, Womans Missionary Council, altar worker and the prayer chain. When Bea's husband died she became secretary for the nursery. This gave her much pleasure and joy. Bea was a talented china painter, accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing the guitar. Until she lost her vision she knitted caps and booties for premature babies and her quilts will be treasured for years to come. She spent many hours volunteering at the church, Senior Center and Mended Hearts.
A Funeral and Committal Service will be held on Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Rev. Ronald Piedmonte officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial at Vestal Hills Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bea's memory may be made to the Assembly of God Nursery, 255 Washington Street, Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
