Lee E. Benedict
of New Milford, Pa.
Lee E. Benedict, 74, of New Milford, Pa., passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose, Pa. He was born in Afton, N.Y., to the late Edwin F. and Ina Pearl (Herkimer) Benedict. His wife of 56 years, Anita M. (Lashway) Benedict, survives. Also surviving are his children and their spouses, Gail and Ray Holbrook, Newark Valley, N.Y., Karen and Art Doolittle, Kingsley, Pa., Kevin and Sandy Benedict, Nicholson, Pa., Mark and Terri Benedict, Uniondale, Pa., Darryl and Bonnie Benedict, Dalton, Pa., Lance and Carla Benedict, Hop Bottom, Pa.; 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lee was predeceased by a son, Troy Patrick Benedict; a granddaughter, Carrie Ann Folmar; and his sister, Mildred Gun. He worked as a machinist for 26 years, built and ran the Shore Forest Campground in Hop Bottom, Pa., for 15 years, also ran the Benedict Market for 3 years, was the Susquehanna County Recycling Coordinator for 6 years. He was a longtime volunteer fireman in Vestal and Hop Bottom, associated with the Crime Watch for the Sheriff's office in Ocala, Fla., was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, New Milford, Pa., and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Ocala, Fla., along with it's choir, and a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. John's.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2007, in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Great Bend, Pa., with Rev. Alfred J. Vito of St. Lawrence Church officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Jackson Twp., Pa. Visitations will be at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations in Lee's name can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1101 Hill St., Jessup, Pa. 18434; or to the American Red Cross, Public Ave., Montrose, Pa. 18801.

Lee will be sadly missed by all who new him. He and his family have always made my family and I feel like we were part of theirs. I will always remember that. I loved listening to the stories he always told. He knew just about everyone, I was so amazed at that. He will live on in the hearts that he touched. Too his family we love you very much and will always be there for you. God Bless You All.
