Anna Whitaker Obituary
of Johnson City
Anna Whitaker, 80, of Johnson City, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 10, 2007. She was the beloved wife of 40 years to Robert H. Whitaker, who predeceased her in 1992. Anna is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Pierre and Marie Bogosta, France, Michel and Beverly Whitaker, Johnson City, Mark and Miryam Whitaker, Queens; three grandchildren, Scott, Justin, April Whitaker; great-grandson, Joel. Anna arrived in the U.S. in 1950 after surviving the difficult period in France of Nazi Occupation. She retired from General Electric and was a member of First Baptist Church, Johnson City. Anna was a person of great courage, steely determination and integrity, with deep love for her family and loyalty to her friends. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the prayers, cards, good wishes, flowers, visits and encouragement she received during her illness. It meant a lot to her.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City. Deacon Joe Federowicz, Hospice Spiritual Care Chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Barber Memorial Home.
