I had the opportunity to know Fred when I worked at P&C in the 80's. He was always ready with a smile and loved to tease! He was a great guy and will be missed.

While growing up, I was on the cross county team, and Mr. Mayers would always say to my parents as I was running by that I ran like a deer. Although I grew up quick and moved out on my own, I will miss waving to Mr.Mayers on my way to my parents house. He will be missed.

Fred and I shared the same birth day and month, but different years. He had me by 5 years. We used to joke about that, and also he would kid me about his full head of hair, and my lack thereof. We have lost a fine gentleman, and a member of the " Greatest Generation" Sadly missed but never to be forgotten.

I have many fond memories of Fred when he was a butcher and I was the High School kid working at P&C back in the mid 70's. He encouraged me to join the Army MP's and I'll never regret that decision. Over the years I would see him on and off and we always enjoyed chatting and catching up on what was going on in each other's lives. Fred was a true patriot and an honorable man. I will miss his hearing his frank assessment of the world. Godspeed Fred, you earned your rest...whsiii
