Alberta Stinavage
of Thompson, Pa.
Alberta Stinavage, 80, of Thompson, died Sunday morning, November 25, 2007, at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna. She was the wife of Stanley Stinavage, Thompson. They were married for 56 years. Born October 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Frances Istenich Medved. She was educated in Lakewood schools. She liked making pierogies with the ladies from St. James Church, Pleasant Mount. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and picking strawberries. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be missed by all. Also surviving are two sons, Martin and wife, Helen, Thompson and Paul, Ph.D., Kalamazoo, Mich.; one daughter, Margaret Kipps, VMD and husband, Ronald, Uniondale; a sister, Sylvia Marchuska and husband, Justin, Vestal, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, John and wife, Erin, Matthew and wife, Gretchen, Teresa, Katie, Maria, Kristin, Andrew, and Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Audra; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Zgavec; and a brother, Martin Medved.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. James Church, Pleasant Mount. Interment in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Thompson Hose Company, PO Box 419, Thompson, Pa. 18465.
