Dear Pat,

I want to add extend my condolences to you and your family. Although I only knew Roy a short time, it was so easy to be with him and you and I feel he truly made the world a better place. A kind and gentle man, he will be with you again. Fondly, Pat Phelps

Pat and family, Roy will surely be missed and he will always be loved, he was a good bowling buddy who taught me how to master the lanes and I'm still learning, I won't forget what he taught me. I know he's now teaching his bowling skills in heaven and when the storms come and the thunder rolls and the lightning crackles, that will be Roy, throwing strike after strike. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

We are all going to miss you gramps. Snoring in the chair on the holiday's. The house on Bradley with the dog kennel on the side of the garage. A never ending procession of people animals and love. Friends, family friends of family a noisy hubbub of life. Holiday's with more people than seats in the house more food than table and counterspace for it. Kids everywhere (not all of those kids young in age). Going camping when we were little. A lifetime of memories not your lifetime, that is a far greater experience than we your grandchildren have yet had but for me and probably all of us our lifetimes have not had any long period without the sure knowledge that Grampa is there if we need to talk or just pass out in the woods or an easy chair (seems strange that so many memories of you have you snoring in your chair?) It's hard to find words to express the feelings to mourn or even just say goodbye to a man who unlike most does not just help in supporting a community but is father, grandfather and great-grandfather to one of his own. hmm well all I can really say is happy hunting until we meet again gramps we'll try to be here for each other but I doubt any of us will fill your shoes. You were made of stronger stuff than most of us are. love you always

(chucky to you gramps. grandson #1 at least in birth order;)
