Her love, dedication and commitment to her family, friends, community, sports, etc., were unparalleled. Words are not enough to express the kind of person she was. The world has been left a better place because of her. Both of us will sure miss her.

My sincerest condolences to the Lake family. Having been a high school classmate (and teammate) of Randi's, I share many of the same memories as Val Ross. "Mrs. Lake" was an active part of my life while growing up in Greene - from Elementary School through High School graduation. She was always our #1 Fan at the girl's games. The best scorekeeper too!! I still remember all the goodies she brought us - from orange slices to Magic Cookie Bars. And who else but Mrs. Lake would let their daughter have a pet pig? Mrs. Lake embodied the true meaning of community spirit and generosity. She was a great role model and someone I have always admired.

Andy,
On behalf of all the members of the Millennium Pipeline Project Team, let me express our sincere condolences to you and your family for the loss of your mother.
After reading about some of her recreational activities, I suspect I know where you learned to play golf so well.
Our Sincere Sympathy,

I was so sad to hear about Mrs. Lake passing away. She was the coolest lady! My first memory of her was in first grade. I was nervous about being in the new school and I remember seeing her in the library, smiling, knowing my name(!), being so enthusiastic about our first day of school, and talking to us on our level and really caring about what we had to say. Another memory must have been when I was a brownie. We went to the Lake's house (immaculate!!!!) and Mrs. Lake had made some fabulous food. I remember someone saying something inappropriate (maybe me!!) and she immediately put that child in her place without raising her voice. I was impressed, even way back then. A great lady. I enjoyed reading about her golf prowess in the Chenango American for years. How many competitions did she and Randy win, anyway?????

"Mrs. Lake" was the best. She was the only adult I knew growing up in Greene who always seemed to be doing something kid-interesting and having fun. I thought it would be so cool to be a Lake and have a peppy, spunky, sporty Mom who made Mississippi Mud and let her kids leave the Christmas tree up until Valentine's Day. She was a fixture on all of our sports teams, baking us goodies, keeping score, endlessly enthusiastic, even riding on the uncomfortable school buses all the way to Walton with us. She always had a kind word for me and took a real interest in what I was doing, and I know that was true for all of the other members of Randi's teams. If there was a community event, Mrs. Lake was sure to be one of the organizers. Greene is a better place because of her generosity, her energy and many talents, and her unflagging enthusiasm for her community.

I was very sad when I herd of Edna's passing. I know she is now in a better place with God our father. She was a wonderful woman and always full of encouragement. I will really miss her.

My mother and I extend our sympathies to you. Edna was such a wonderful person to be around. Her enthusiasm during the annual Kay Eggleston Invitational was infectious, and we appreciate all of her time and effort each year. She will be greatly missed by many.

I was very sad when I read Mrs. Lake's obituary. She was one of my favorite teachers in school. I'll never forget how she used to take us for ice cream when we'd accomplish something in the Media Center. This is a great loss to Greene's community. My condolences to the family. :(
