Robert Larue Bundy, 80, a familiar to all his neighbors in Brackney, passed away on November 30, 2007. Bob was well known for being helpful, generous and having a big heart. He will be missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joanne (Dunbar) Bundy; their son, Robert L. Bundy, Brackney; and his grandchildren, Thomas Harold and Maggie Larue Bundy; Robert's fiancée, Cynthia Buss and her children, Emily, Julie and Gretchen Buss. Bob leaves behind brother, Glenn (Butch) Bundy and his wife, Donna, Union Springs; and half sister, Caroline Hill, Lindley; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia Lou Bundy in 1967; his natural father, Robert Brown; and his stepfather, Laverne (Pop) Bundy, who adopted Robert and his brother, Gerald as toddlers. He was also predeceased by his mother, Florence (Floss) Brown Bundy; and two brothers, Gerald and Hugh. Bob was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country with the occupation forces in Japan. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. Bob passed away after filling out a tag on his final deer. Bob owned Bundy's Plumbing and Heating Company in Vestal for many years and raised registered beagles as a hobby.
At his request, there will be no services. Family and close friends may call at the Bundy home on Hawleyton Road from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 3rd. Memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company, Brackney, Pa. 18812. Arrangements for the family are directed by the DeMunn Funeral Home.
