Evelyn (Emerson Gross) J. Wood, 74, died Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles M. Wood, and grandson, Devon Grose. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and David Felton, Hamilton, Rhonda and Scott VanZandt, Windsor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Nancy Grose, Greenville, N.C., Timothy and Stacy Grose, Raleigh, N.C.; ten grandchildren, John, Brian and Laura Felton, Christin and Brad VanZandt, Erin (Grose) Chris Glover, Jason, Rachel, Trevor and Sydney Grose; great-grandchild, Britt Glover; one sister, Beverly Mijka, Binghamton; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Nina Emerson, Calabash, N.C.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a retired employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield. A special thanks to all who provided companionship and care giving to Evelyn.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Broome County Office for Aging, and GROW Program, Attn. Kathleen Klysh, PO Box 1766, Binghamton, N.Y. 13902.
