I would have gone to hell and back with you as my leader. My best years working on NPFD were on your shift. You trusted me, and gave me the space and freedom to become a medical professional as well as a firefighter. You were like my brother, friend, and mentor. You looked after me and kept me from getting into trouble in and out of the fire station. I was so torn when I left to go into the Navy but you encouraged me and I will never forget you. I smile and even laugh when I think about you. Mr. and Mrs. Labbadia, Paul, Michael and family please accept my deepest condolences. I miss everyone and think of you often. Take care and Godspeed.

To the Labbadia Family,
Although we have not seen each other in a while, I wanted to write and express our sorrow. Larry was such a special person that no words are really adequate. He brought pleasure to all he came into contact with and will be very sadly missed.
Everyone I have spoken to have their own particular memories of Larry and all have said how much they valued his friendship. I met Larry through his brother Michael my close friend during our days as firefighters at the Lymansville Station. Larry was a great friend to Ann Marie and I, and we were honored that he was part of our wedding day. He always treated us like family, especially when we lived on Grove Ave. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for anyone. I feel the loss your family is going through, after the passing of my father, and my brother in January, and my prayers go out to you all. I am sorry I did not have a chance to see Larry before he passed; we love him and will miss him
Please let Ann Marie and I know if there is anything we can do, and do not forget that we are always here to talk to. It was an honor to have Larry as our friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you everyday.
The Kelley Family,
Brian, Ann Marie, Brian II, and David

Dear Mr. and Mrs Labbadia, Michael and Paul. I am very sorry to hear about Larry's passing. I was told last week from my brother David, and was touched that you had asked about me, and how I was doing. I still have fond memories of your whole family, growing up in North Providence on Sampson Ave. As kids we shared much time together which has always remained with me forever. I am very sorry for your loss, and that I could not be with you during your time of grieving. I send all our love from the DiChiara family, and please know that your family made a difference in our neighborhood. My best from Virginia, sincerely Steven DiChiara, Commander, US Navy Retired.

Linda and Family, Mr. & Mrs. Labbadia, Mike and Paul... I am so sorry for your loss. I hadn't seen Larry for a while, but he was the kind of person that was so loyal and genuine, that seeing and talking to him would always bring back 'good times' and fun stories...and there were many! He always put a smile on my face, even when he wasn't feeling well, but he always made me happy. I am so sorry I didn't see or talk to him before he passed. I loved him and I miss him. It was my honor to know him and call him my friend. Please, Dear God, bless Larry and all of you.

Lynda,

I was deeply saddened to hear about Larry's passing. I have many fond memories of Larry which go back to our volunteer firefighting days when he first joined the Fruit Hill Fire Department in the early 70's. He loved the fire service so much that he made it his professional calling. He was so dedicated to helping and serving others. He had many fine qualities. He was a gracious and standup guy. I never heard him utter a bad word about anyone or anything. He had many friends and will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with you, Larry and Lauren, Larry's family and Aunt Millie during this difficult time.

I don’t know how I can say what I feel. What I do know is that no matter what I say I could never take away the pain you feel at right now, and that’s ok. We all feel this pain but with prayers and the help of each other, not to mention the memories of Larry we will all help one another through this.

I will, like all of you miss Larry always. It seemed like it was only yesterday that he and I met and from that first day until the day he was taken, Larry was always more than just a friend to me. Larry and I shared some good time and a few bad times but no matter what he was always ready to be by my side.

Michael, Paul and your families. Please know that you are always in my thought and prayers. Michael, I know you understand more then anyone that I hold you in my heart as my brother and you and your family will always be with me. Paul, although you where young when I was around you please know how important you are to me as well as your wife and children.

Mr. & Mrs. Lab. I could never imagine how hard this is for both of you.

Mr. Lab. I know as always you are staying strong to keep everyone calm. You are trying to absorb everyone’s pain so it will not hurt as much. You have done this so well for so many years. You are one of the strongest men I have ever known. What you have done for your family most men will have never been able to even try. Salute!

Mrs. Lab. I am so afraid to see you because I know I will not be able to control my feelings. Just the look in your eyes will crush me and I know that you are hurting so badly. You have taken care of so many people in your life (especially me) and you just kept on doing so. You never get to rest. You are the corner stone of your family and by far the strongest of the bunch. You have always reminded me of my mother and I will always think of you that way. Please understand I will pray for you each and every day. I don’t feel that I have lost a friend but instead I have lost a brother. Your boys are more then friend they are like my brothers and their wives and children my family. Lawrence is at peace now and the suffering is over. With the hands of God Lawrence will never know what it is to feel pain again. After all his suffering Lawrence deserves that. I will pray for him with you always.

Linda, Lawrence & Lauren. Linda please know what you and your children mean to me. You have always been great to me and that I will never forget. Lauren and Lawrence you may never understand what a great man your father really was. As son’s and daughter’s sometimes we never understand our parents but I promises you that if you keep your hearts open some day you will understand your father more then anyone. Please know that whenever I asked about you two, your father could have never spoken with more pride then he did. He loved you both very much. Don’t ever loose sight of that no matter what.

I will see you all soon
Love you all
Michael
