Nathan Brown Obituary

BROWN, NATHAN (NATE), 87, of Scituate was called home on Tuesday, June 17. He was the husband of Elsie (Rintala) Brown.

Born in Foster, he was the son of the late Emanuel and Julia (Wright) Brown. He served in the Navy during WWII. Among his many activities, he was a founding member of the Potterville Volunteer Fire Department, a member of VFW Post 449 in West Warwick, as well as being a Mason in the Hamilton Lodge in Scituate. In addition, he was a member of the Young at Heart Club in Foster. He served on the Patient Council of St. Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich, as well as being a resident volunteer there. During his spare time, he enjoyed furniture refinishing.

In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, Elsie, he is survived by 3 daughters Linda Brown and her children Amanda and Michael; Nancy Mende and her husband Bill of Scituate; Carol Brown and her husband Richard of North Carolina and their daughter Meghan of Virginia, who claimed a very special place in Pappas heart. He was the brother of the late Frank Brown and Mary Nagel. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service, as well as burial with Military Honors, is planned by the family for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Home, Activity Fund, 1 St. Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818
