Jacqueline Mistretta Obituary

MISTRETTA, JACQUELINE, MARY, (formerly Jacqueline M. Botelho), age 41, daughter of the late police chief John T. Botelho of East Greenwich, RI passed away on July 1, 2008 in Portland, Maine.

Jackie was an avid, competitive and highly accomplished equestrian as a young woman and remained a passionate advocate for animal welfare as an adult. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island, she devoted herself to the profession of nursing, eventually to critical care, where she felt most fulfilled. Over the course of her 19-year career, she endured herself to countless patients, families and coworkers who appreciated her compassion and uncompromising bedside care. It is certain that she will be missed by every person who encountered her brief but brilliant life. She is survived by her husband, Anthony and mother, Arlene.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor Saturday, July 12th at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church, 35 Peirce Street, East Greenwich. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Humane Society in Jackie's name.

Mrs Botelho,
I am so sorry to hear about Jackie. I only found out today. I have picked up the phone many times in the past months to call her but was afraid she might be gone.
Jackie was one of the best people I know. I am so glad that she was in my life. I am sorry that her life was so short.
I will miss her greatly. I am thinking of you. This must be such a difficult time for you.
Love,
Cheryl Hottenstein Ward

I feel saying sorry just isn't enough, but I am so sorry. Jackie was an amazing person, and I too have very fond memories of her from the barn. From Radar to Drummer, she was someone I always loved to watch ride. She always seemed like the perfect team when she rode. I admired that so much. My heart and prayers go out to you Mrs. Botelho. You raised a beautiful person and she will be sadly missed.
