Armand Roy Obituary

ROY, ARMAND E., of Bloodgood St., died Sunday. He was the husband of Marie Y. (Picard) Roy.

Born in St. Hughes, Canada he was the son of the late Aime and Aldea (Van Dale) Roy.

Mr. Roy and his wife owned and operated the former Blue Bonnet Cafe on Broadway, Pawtucket for over 35 years retiring in 1985. Mr. Roy was a Staff Sgt. for the US Army serving during WWII and received the Silver Star for gallantry in action.

Surviving besides his wife are four sons; Dennis A. Roy of Budd Lake, NJ, Alan M. Roy of Princeton, ME, Robert C. Roy of Cumberland and David P. Roy of Pawtucket. One daughter Doreen M. Roy of Pawtucket. Two sisters Aline Roberts and Theresa Morin both of Pawtucket. 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00am from the CHEETHAM MORTUARY, 1012 Newport Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Consolation Church, Sabin Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to Hospice, 169 George Street, Pawtucket in Mr. Roy's memory.
