Alice Pontes Obituary

PONTES, ALICE, 87, of Pawtucket Avenue, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Francisco 'Frank' Pontes.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Diogo and Anna (DeGraca) Mello.

Mrs. Pontes was a jewelery worker for the Trifari Corporation for thirty years retiring in 1982.

She leaves two sons William Perry of New Bedford, Mass., Joseph M. Perry of Hollywood, CA, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Holzinger and Walter and Joseph Mello.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10AM in the PERRY/MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd., Providence. Calling hours Friday 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Ponte's memory to St. Martha's Church Restoration Fund, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence, RI 02914 would be deeply appreciated.
