Vito Matarese Obituary

MATARESE, VITO J., 73 of Johnston passed away July 23, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Madeline (Rose) Matarese.

Born in Providence a son of the late Gaetano and Constance (Mazzoni) Matarese.

Mr. Matarese was the Founder and President of Vito's Towing and Service Station on Cranston Street, Cranston for 49 years. He was a member of the Rhode Island Public Towing Association.

He was the beloved father of Tracy A. Grilli of Johnston. Loving grandfather of Michael J. and Samantha L. Grilli. Father in-law of the late Marco A. Grilli. Brother of Nicholas Matarese of Cranston and Theresa A. DiPippo of Longmeadow, MA.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45 a.m. from 'WOODLAWN' of Thomas Gattone & Son Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Church, Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. CALLING HOURS SUNDAY 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Ave., Providence 02908. www.WoodlawnGattone.com
