Gertrude Munroe Obituary

MUNROE, GERTRUDE M., 92 of West Shore Road and formerly of Glen Drive, died Friday at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late John K. Munroe Jr.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Howard E. and Laura (Williams) Acres, she had lived in Warwick since 1948. Mrs. Munroe served and worked as the secretary of Munroe Tool Company, Coventry until her retirement in 1985.

She was a graduate of East Providence High School, was a licensed hairdresser and an avid bridge player. She attended Norwood Baptist Church. She belonged to the Womens Auxiliary of the Lambskin Club and of the Rhode Island Shriners.

She is survived by her daughter Carole A. Emmett of Wakefield, her son John H. Munroe of Warwick, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Laura Smith, Ruth Kane and George Acres.

Funeral service at Norwood Baptist Church, 48 Budlong Avenue, Warwick Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Coventry. Should friends desire memorial gifts made to the Church would be appreciated. Information and condolences at www.carpenterjenks.com.
