Evelyn Giuliano Obituary

GIULIANO, SISTER EVELYN, 81, (formerly Sister Mary Cabrini), a Sister of Mercy and a community chef, passed away Wednesday at Mount St. Rita Health Centre.

Born Evelyn Giuliano in Westerly, a daughter of the late Louis and Diomira (Gruttola) Giuliano. She entered the Sisters of Mercy on September 8, 1946 and professed her vows on March 12, 1949.

Sister was the chef at Mount St. Rita Novitiate from 1949-1970 and from there she went to the LaSallette Seminary in Attleboro, MA for nine years. In 1979 she was transferred to Our Lady of Mercy Convent in Attleboro where she prepared the meals for the sisters until her retirement in 2005.

In addition to her religious family, the Sisters of Mercy, she leaves many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Helen Belrose, Theresa Gaccione, Jean Grosman, Angela Powers, Carmela Saporita, and Fannie, Alphonse, Michael, Frank, Louis, Dominic, and Anthony Giuliano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in Mount St. Rita Chapel, 15 Sumner Brown Rd., Cumberland. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mercy Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Mount St. Rita Health Center, 15 Sumner Brown Rd., Cumberland, RI 02864 would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements with JAMES J.
