Eleanor Carmody Obituary
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Dunn) Dunne. Mrs. Carmody was employed by EMC Insurance Co. as an Insurance Claims Adjuster for many years. She was a communicant of St. Pius Church and a past president of the Womans Auxiliary of Scared Heart Church in East Providence. She was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and Munroe Business School.
Eleanor was passionate about many things in her long and happy life her beloved husband, her children and grandchildren, family, life-long friends, the welfare of animals, reading, traveling the world and the beauty of the beach. She was an accomplished painter, seamstress, knitter, ceramicist, and crafts person. She brightened the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, humor and caring heart. She will be missed by many.
Loving mother of Brian T. Carmody of No. Providence, Kevin R. Carmody of Narragansett, Timothy Carmody of Providence and Paula M. Carmody of Baltimore, MD. Grandmother of 5, she was also the sister of the late Leo Dunne.
Calling hours are respectfully omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on WEDNESDAY, at 10:30 am in St. Pius V Church, Elmhurst Ave, Providence. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Eleanor's memory to: RI SPCA 186 Amaral St., Riverside RI 02915 would be deeply appreciated. Mrs. Carmody was a lovely lady who I admired. She was a gentle and caring woman with a great love and dedication to her family. May God bless her children and grandchildren as He brings her home to her resting place in heaven.
