Walter Cahoon Obituary
Born in Providence, a son of the late Walter E. and Cecelia (Hould) Cahoon he resided in Sandwich for 47 years before moving to Warwick in 2006. He was a member of the Firefighters Union Local 2196. A Vietnam veteran he was a member of the the American Legion Post 138 and the VFW Post in Sandwich, MA and the Oakland Beach Fire Company. He loved spending time on the water and fishing.
He was the father of Walter E. Cahoon, III and Debra Ann Cahoon. Brother of Raymond W., Eugene J., Theresa M. Cahoon, the late George Cahoon, Delores Carbone, Barbara Genever and Bella A. Cahoon.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial with military honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Information and guestbook visit www.TheQuinnFuneralHome.com.

Peggy and family..I am so sorry for your loss.. Walter was a great guy and we all had lots of fun together down at the firemans club.... where walter was also an active member....will be missed by all. Many of us are sad tonight after hearing of Walter passing away. He touched many of us while driving as a mail contract driver on the Rte 6A run. Always ready to share a minute..with a word or funny tale with the sparkle in his eyes! So very sorry to hear of your loss.
