Rachel Simoneau Obituary

SIMONEAU, RACHEL E. (JOYAL), 86, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at Heritage Hills Nursing Home. She was the wife of James H. Simoneau.

Born in Quebec, Canada, a daughter of the late Orphir and Lena (Rivard) Joyal. She lived in Woonsocket most of her life before moving to Pawtucket then North Providence.

Mrs. Simoneau was employed by the former Nymans Mfg. Co. of East Providence for 24 years before retiring. She was a communicant of the Church of the Presentation, a member of St. Edwards Church Senior Citizens and AARP.

Besides her husband she leaves two sons, James A. and Robert M. Simoneau both of North Providence; three brothers, Joseph Joyal of North Smithfield, Rene and Marcel Joyal both of Woonsocket; a sister, Sister Pauline Joyal, RJM in California and a granddaughter, Sharna B. Rattey of Lincoln. She was the mother of the late Pauline L. Ertl.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 at 10 am in the Church of the Presentation, Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Internment will follow in Highland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Ste. 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 in her memory would be appreciated. Arrangements with Merrick R. Williams Funeral Home.
