Vincent J. "Vinnie" Fairbrother Sr.

FAIRBROTHER, VINCENT 'VINNIE' J. SR., 81 of Harold St. Riverside passed away at the RI Veterans Home September 5th. He was the husband of the late Florence (Johnson) Fairbrother

Vinnie was born in Riverside, he was the son of the late Thomas and Beatrice (Birley) Fairbrother. Vinnie was a Master Lace Weaver at the RI Lace Works in Barrington until he retired. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, a member of American Legion Post 10, VFW, and a life member of the Navy Seabee Veterans of America, Island X1 Davisville. He is survived by his three children Linda Dawson of Riverside, Vincent V. J. Fairbrother Jr. of Portland, ME, and Kathy Cooke of Rehoboth, MA. He was known as Poppie to his six grandchildren, Ian Fairbrother of Portland, OR, Cara Ervin of Crozet, VA, Craig and Michael Cooke of Rehoboth, MA, Brian Dawson of Riverside, and Carolyn Greco of Riverside. Poppie also had five great-grandchildren, Caras daughters Elizabeth, Abigail, and Josephine, Craigs daughter Ava and Brians son Aiden. Vinnie was preceded in death by his two brothers Eric and Albert Fairbrother, and his three sisters Patricia Fairbrother, Annie Sylvia and Louie Cook. A memorial service will be held Saturday September 13, 2008 at 11 AM in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside.
