Janice,
I am so very sorry to hear of your mothers death. I was away in Maine at the time. I have very fond memories of spending time at your family home when we were growing up, the Bean suppers, the Beach and
many afternoons after school and sometimes Saturday and Sundays.
Your mom was a very nice special lady who always made me feel welcome with with her soft voice and sweet smile. I'm sure she will be missed by many.

Grammy,
You have always been my hero. You were an amazing woman all through the years. I hope that when I live to the good ol age of 93 that I am as independent as you were. I remember when I was little and we were spending our summers at Johnson’s pond I asked you to blow up a balloon for me and you did not hesitate…although you blew your teeth out…. ? I spent many afternoons with you and Pepere going to McDonalds for coffee and apple pies then to your house to watch dialing for dollars….every time we were out you would take your keys out about 20 minutes before we were even close to home….. One day I said at your house that I had forgotten my “scrunchie, ie. Hair elastic” and you replied, well I have some chips in the cabinet….
Those are the memories I will cherish and remember… you truly were my hero. I love you more than words can say. I hope that Mom and I can grow to be even half the woman that you were. When I talk about you and remember you – I always say what an amazing person your were. Words can’t even express how much you are missed. But I know you are where you want to be, with Pepere and Uncle Henny. I love you so much Grammy, and miss you already. It was so hard to say good bye but I know this is the way you wanted it. We will celebrate your life tomorrow like noone has EVER celebrated a life! Please know how much you are loved and missed and we’ll see you eventually on the other side.

Everyone who knew Ivy loved her. How could you not? She was such a strong, independent, loving woman. Ivy became such an important part of the Kavanagh/Dowding family through the years. We shared many special memories and are better people for having known her. Ivy, you were one of a kind and will be truly missed.
