Katherine Creighton Obituary

CREIGHTON, KATHERINE T., 76, of Jacksonia Drive, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter Susan. She was the wife of the late Herbert W. Creighton.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Kiernan) Campbell, Katherine lived on River Avenue, Providence, for most of her life before moving to North Providence eleven years ago.

Mrs. Creighton was a sales associate at the former Sears & Roebuck Store, on North Main Street, Providence, for twenty years, retiring in 1993. She was a lifelong communicant of Saint Pius V Church, and a Eucharistic Minister for the past several years.

She leaves two daughters, Elizabeth M. Bloom, R.N., and Susan J. Coutu, four sons; William T. Creighton, M.D., James P. Creighton, Esq., David J. Creighton, and Joseph M. Creighton; two sisters, Mary Pratt and Helen McMillan; a brother, Bernard Campbell; twenty-one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Friday, at 8:45 a.m., from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Thursday, 4-8 p.m.

Katherine was a wonderful person. She was so helpful when I lost my husband and when I needed to sell 30 Week Club Tickets. She was a friend I looked forward to seeing at early mass. I will miss her dearly.
