John Dalia Obituary

DALIA, JOHN, of Hartford Avenue, Riverside died Friday. He was the husband of the late Muriel (Nelson) Dalia.

Born in Riverside a son of the late Samuel and Rose (Sperandeo) Dalia, he was a life long resident. He worked in the maintenance department of Mobil Oil Co. from 1943 until 1975 then was a custodian for the East Providence Schools until retiring in 1983.

He was the beloved father of Janis R. McGuirl and her husband David of Cranston and loving grandfather of Eric J. McGuirl. He was the brother of Antonetta Dalia of Riverside and the late Jennie D'Alessio, Serena Dalia, and Josephine Joseph.

The funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 AM from the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside with a Mass of Christan Burial in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 9 AM. Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7 PM. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Cresent Park Carousel, 145 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, 02914, would be appreciated. Visit smithmason.com for information and online condolences.
