Etienne Soucy Obituary

SOUCY, ETIENNE R. 'STEVE', 86, of Ferncrest Ave., died peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Coventry Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Ginetta 'Jean' (Petrocelli) Soucy for 59 years.

Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Valmore and Aldea (Forcier) Soucy, he was a Coventry resident most of his life.

Steve developed and owned Sherwood Valley Mobile Home Park in Coventry since 1982. He was an active parishioner of SS John & Paul Church where he was an usher for fifty years. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the European Theater and was a recipient of both the Silver Star and Bronze Star for his valor while fighting in these campaigns.

He was the father of Michael E. Soucy and his wife Roberta, of Coventry, and brother to Gerard Soucy of West Warwick.

His funeral will be Saturday at 9 am from the Robert A. Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in SS John & Paul Church. Burial with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860 will be appreciated.
