William Black Obituary

BLACK, WILLIAM A. 61, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Born in Providence, son of the late William R. N. and Aino (Kyllonen) Black, he was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.

Bill was a Vietnam U. S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local No. 37 East Providence for 25 years until retiring in 2002. He leaves one daughter, Donna L. Peterson; one son, Robert W. Black; one grandson, Gary A. Peterson, Jr.; one sister, Karen L. McGrath and her husband Robert and two nephews. VISITATION will be held Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. The funeral and interment with Military Honors will be private.TrippFuneralHome.com

To Karen and family, My deepest sympathy to all of you. Billy was a great guy with alot of heart and sense of humor. I haven,t seen him in alot of years although we did talk on the phone. A member of my band wrote a song called "TAKE THE TIME". I wish i had done that. He thought the world of all of you. We will all miss him. I always called him "MY FINN". God always takes the best.

With My most sincere condolence to Bob and Karen McGrath, Donna and Robert. Bill will be sadly missed by many peoples life’s he touched not only as an Ironworker but as a great guy He and I were partners for various companies for years. May the good lord let you rest in peace brother.
