Olive Chase Obituary
Residing most of her life in Warwick, she was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy and Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing (Class of 1934). She worked as a Registered Nurse until retiring in 1975.
Olive is survived by her six children, Marie-Louise O. Bartling of Broomfield, CO, Patricia A. Dizor of Jacksonville, FL, Edward F. Chase, Jr., of Aiken, SC, William H. Chase of North Smithfield, Anne E. Chase of Clermont, FL, and Michael A. Chase of Warwick. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Olive was the sister of Elizabeth Strobel Ferris and the late Alfred, Walter and Francis Charland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 4, at 10:00am in St. Benedict Church, Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 5-8pm in THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elizabeth Buffam Chace House, PO Box 9476, Warwick, RI 02889. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org

Dear Nancy and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. I will always remember her sitting outside her room, and overseeing the rest of the patients. She was Mrs. Chase to me, and I was Nancy Lonergan to her. I just could not call her Olive. I will always remember that conversation during which she introduced me to her son Bill. It was my pleasure to have been able to know her.

Dear Nicole and family,
My prayers go out to you all. I can remember going in your house and she would tell us stories and calling out the window for you. She was such a wonderful and nice lady. Even after we moved away we would still come to visit you all.

My mom just called to tell us the news - my heartfelt prayers to everyone. Memories of all of you, of all the Chase kids, under the large, spreading trees of Opper Ave. and Aunt Olive in the midst of it all, come flooding back today. We have been blessed to be loved by people such as her.
