Lillian Lynch Obituary

LYNCH, LILLIAN, E., (BAXTER) KELLEY, wife of the late James F. Lynch passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at West View Nursing Home.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Doonan) Baxter, she moved with her family to Washington, DC in her teens where she finished high school and attended the Grace Marguerite School of Beauty Culture. She returned to RI during WWII and graduated with honors from Johnson & Wales Business School in 1956. Lillian worked in the secretarial field and in the insurance business and was a past member of the Kent County and Providence County Insurance Women's Association. She worked as secretary to Warwick Police Chief James F. Lynch. Upon Chief Lynch's retirement she and Chief Lynch were married and moved to New Hampshire where she lived for many years. After her husband's passing, she worked as Personal Lines Underwriter for the Emery-Richardson Insurance Agency in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and was a past member of the Ft. Lauderdale Insurance Women's Association.

She was sister of the late Helen Hendee.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Jefferson Blvd. at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Friday 8:30-9:30 am.

I am so sorry to hear of Lillian's passing, she was such a sweet women. Strong willed and kind hearted she will be missed

We are saddened by the passing of Lillian. She lived above us on Power St., and was good friends with my mother, Mary Driscoll. Her thoughtfulness and kindness to us is still remembered fifty years later. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
