Nana,

For the first time, two days ago it hit me. I will never see you on this earth again. Never feel those hands of warmth, those hugs of love, and those words of wisdom, our times spent together, when you would pick me up and let me tell you which way to go.Or show me how to draw.Tell me the importance of life, family, and trust in Jesus.Your humor and how it always made me smile. I gotta thank god because he gave me one of the coolest grandmas ever. And as i think of you now and our family.I cant think of a more important prayer than for unity in our family.I know will always have our faults and the road wont be a flat one but I just hope that one day On THIS EARTH that we will all be together again.
Love you

To the Sciarra Family,
My deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. I'm so sorry that I didn't know about her passing until late Saturday and missed attending the funeral.
Eva was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Her compassion for others was incredible. I will never forget the day I was at my husband's grave crying uncontrollably and asking for a sign to help me get through this, when I looked up, Eva was standing there with outstretched arms. Imagine the strength of a woman consoling me when she just left her own son's grave? Please draw strength and comfort, knowing your mother was loved by so many people and how she will live on through all these memories, until we all meet again one day.
My love to all,

Rhonda Sasa

To my brothers and sisters,
I want to thank you all for what you did for our mother over the past three months. I have always loved all of you, but the time we spent together taking care of mom, brought me closer to you. As the oldest sister I tell everyone how proud I am of each of you. It is my hope and prayer that the tragic loss of our mother will bring us even closer together as a family, and that we will spend more time together in the immediate future.
To my wonderful friends and relatives, and to all of the wonderful people at Elmhurst Extended Care, I would like to thank you for your support and prayers during my mothers illness and passing. The outflowing of support from all of you is a tribute not only to your friendship, but it also tells me how much you loved my mother and held her in your hearts.

How does a son begin to express how empty he feels? How does a son try to remain stoic at such a time of loss, when he can actually feel his heart hurt and feel that his soul is cracked forever? I am empty, I am frightened and I have died inside.....I held my mother in my arms the night she died, cleaned her body and didn't want to let her go. I never will let her go - ever. She meant the world to me and I just hope I told her enough times how much she meant to me, how grateful I was for her and how much I loved her. I lost a very big part of my life and my only question to my mother is that she left me when she did, did she honestly think that I would be able to handle my life and all of it's problems without her? I'm not ready to not have my mother......I think this may be bigger than I am and I'm not sure if I can carry this cross.........
Mom, I'm frightened and I need you now more than ever in my life, to help me get through the rest of whatever time is left in my life. The reality of your passing hits me like a wall and I don't just cry, I wail and I'm not ashamed or embarassed to say that I do - the pain is intolerable at times. You were my life, you were my friend and I apologize to you for not being able to "fix" your condition - I would have given you my heart if it meant that you would live another 20 years and continue to do the good work that you do. I hope I made you proud and that I never embarassed you for what I am or what I chose as my profession. Please, please, please watch over me and pray that I can deal with this - I don't know if I can..........

I love you forever, always and a day and I hope God knows how lucky he is to have you as his soldier. Give Dad and Jerry a big hug and kiss for me. I'll never stop loving or missing you........ever. Sleep peaceful...........sleep.

Your baby boy - Dante

Dear Family,

My brother Ray called me tonight and told me about Eva's passing.
I send my sincere condolences to all of you.
I have many fond memories of Eva since the time we worked together so many years ago. I have always been touched by the fact that she kept a simple poem I wrote to her for so many years. From time to time I would speak to her and we would laugh about the old days.
She will forever remain as one of the strongest, gracious, forgiving and loving woman I've ever known.
You are all in my prayers.
Again, my sincere sympathy to all of Eva's family and friends.
God Bless you all...

To all of you who have taken the time to share some fond memories and your condolences for my mom, i thank you. It is with a heavy heart that i sit here reflecting on these last 3 months, but some how i manage to still draw from my mothers strength. She was by far the most courageous women i know. Her journey through life was'nt always an easy one, how could it be raising 8 children, losing a husband at an early age and then a son, something no parent should ever have to do. But this women did it and she did it with grace and dignity. She is my hero, my mentor, my friend. She taught us to love hard, play hard, and be loyal to our Lord and your family and for this i will be ever greatfull. I will miss her dearly but look forward to the day when we will be together again. Until then i will do as my mother did, i will love life, i will love my family and i will love the Lord.

October 3, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
