Rita Brooder Obituary
Born in Westport, daughter of the late Wilfred L. and Euphemie (Thibodeau) Massey, she was a lifelong resident of Westport. A devoted wife and mother, she was a Communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport.
Including her husband, survivors include a son: Wayne J. Brooder of Westport; 3 daughters: Donna Santos of Smithfield, RI, Cheryl Florio of Westport and Brenda McGovern of Tiverton, RI; 8 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Edgar Massey, Roland Massey, Loretta Gillette and Lucy Beaudoin.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2008 from the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 9:00 A.M. Calling hours Monday 4-7 P.M. Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Hospice & Palliative Care, 502 Bedford St., Fall River, MA 02720 or We stport Council on Aging, 75 Reed Rd., Westport, MA 02790. Cheryl, Mr. B., Keith, & Family,
She was a very sweet and pleasant lady. We always enjoyed sending time with when we were back up north. We were fortunate to get to see you folks last Thanksgiving which leave us with fond memories.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
