Lawrence Recchia Obituary

RECCHIA, LAWRENCE R., 89, of Exeter, died peacefully Monday at the Golden Crest Nursing Center, North Providence. He was the husband of the late Mary F. (Bulaski) Recchia.

Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Pietro and Virginia (Colomello) Recchia.

Mr. Recchia was the co-owner, along with his wife, of Rickey Creations of Providence and North Providence, for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He had lived in North Providence before moving to Exeter 35 years ago. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, a 3rd Degree member of the Hope Valley Council Knights of Columbus # 6939.

He leaves a daughter, Virginia M. Waitonis of Providence; a brother, Peter Recchia; and two sisters, Betty Bunting and Mary D'Amore. He was a brother of the late Priscilla Del Bonis, Philomena Rocchio, Jenny Caputo, Joseph, Orlando, Edmund, and Charles Recchia.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, at 10:00 am, in St. Pius V Church, 224 Eaton St., Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, donations to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket RI 02860, in his memory, will be appreciated. Arrangements by Russell J.
