Arthur Lamarre Obituary
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Arthur and Beatrice (Smith) Lamarre, he had lived in Lincoln for thirty years before moving to North Providence in 1991.
Mr. Lamarre was the owner of Arthur Lamarre & Sons Wholesale Grocers for fifty years. He was a former member of Pawtucket Country Club, and a member of the golf league at Rehoboth Country Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the North Providence Assembly of God.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Arthur J. Lamarre, Jr. of Pawtucket, David W. Lamarre of North Providence, and Brian D. Lamarre of Providence; one sister, Beatrice O'Connell of Cranston; five grandchildren, one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving will be held Saturday, October 18, at 10:30 a.m. in the North Providence Assembly of God, 236 Lexington Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Lamarre's memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860-9924 would be appreciated. In loving memory of my Godfather and Uncle, Arthur Lamarre. What a wonderful and special person you were to all of us. Your passing has left a void in our hearts but we pray that as time passes that void will be filled with the wonderful memories we have of you and our special times together. Our family will miss you but we know that you are not gone, but rather watching over us from a better place. God Bless you.
