J. McKanna Obituary
He was the husband of Evelyn A. (Thomas) McKanna, they had been married for 49 years. Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Dr. Harry F. McKanna and Jeannette (Heinbecker) McKanna.
Mr. McKanna was a Scout Executive with the Narragansett Council Boy Scouts of America for 38 years before retiring in 1991. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, a life member and past commander of the American Legion, Post 2, West Warwick.
Besides his wife he leaves a sister, Patricia Ratigan of East Greenwich and twenty-eight nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harry F. McKanna, Jr., Jeannette Freeman and George McKanna.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 am from the HENAULT GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in Christ the King Church, Legris Ave., West Warwick. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Mary Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Narragansett Council Boy Scouts of America, P.O. Box 14777, East Prov., RI 02914-0777 in his memory would be appreciated.

Auntie Evelyn,
Uncle Ross will be sadly missed. He was a great role model and you both are great God parents. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend tonight or tommorow, do to my work schedule. But you will be in our thoughts!
