Doris Teno Obituary

TENO, DORIS, 80, of Bethany Home, died October 15 with her 2 daughters, 'my proudest accomplishments', at her bedside.

Born in Hawaii on November 21, 1927 to Colonel Raymond Coombs and Frances Allen, Doris was a graduate of Bucknell College, and Penn State University. She taught business courses on the college level before devoting herself to family life. Doris loved reading, music, classic movies, fashion, and dogs. She had a keen interest in others and was a generous friend to many. She contributed to numerous civic and charitable organizations.

She is mourned by her daughters, Dr. Joan Teno, of Barrington, and Judge Carol Hanna, of Indiana, PA, son-in-law, Jack Hanna, and granddaughters, Joan and Frances Hanna. Internment will be in the family cemetery in Maryland.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the PERRY/MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. Visitation, from 1 to 2 p.m., precedes the service. The family suggests contributions in her memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02806, and Bethany Home, 111 South Angell Street, Providence, RI 02906.

To Mrs. Doris' family and friends,
My deepest sympathy and condolences to you all. I will miss Mrs. Doris dearly and will always have her in my heart. As we we became good friends while I took care of her at Bethany Home. I will always remember the great conversations we shared, her smile and happiness she showed when I went into her room to get her up in the morning, went in to talk, check on her or to prepare her clothes for the week. I loved and respected her very much. I will truly miss her. My prayers are with the family always.
