William Baxter Obituary

BAXTER, WILLIAM J. SR., 89, of Old Diamond Hill Road, died Saturday, October 18, surrounded by his loving family, at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Ethel (Kamphaus) Baxter.

Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Emmett and Ella (Couchaine) Baxter, he had lived in Cumberland since 1962.

Mr. Baxter had worked in Logistics for the Department of Defense. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Fadden of Hopedale, Mass.; one son, William J. Baxter, Jr. of Saunderstown; one sister, Henrietta 'Sweetie' Eddelston of North Smithfield; and one granddaughter, Anna Baxter of Saunderstown. He was the brother of the late Leon Baxter ad Vincent Baxter.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, October 22, from BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Funeral Service in Arnold Mills United Methodist Church, 694 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Stearns Memorial Section of Arnold Mills Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Arthritis Foundation, 2348 Post Road, Suite 104, Warwick, R.I. 02886, would be appreciated.
