George Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON, GEORGE M., 86, of St. Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, formerly of Hedgerow Drive, Warwick, died Tuesday at Westview Health Care Center. He was the beloved husband of Hope P. (Stowe) Johnson for 66 years.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, he was a son of the late Walter M. and Sarah (Smith) Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was the owner and operator of Johnson Tool Co. and president of Heritage Creations until his retirement. He served in The United States Navy during WW II. He was past commander of the Narragansett Bay Power Squadron.

He was the loving father of Ronald C. Johnson and his wife Amy of Cumming, GA and Pamela E. Blackinton and her husband Thomas of Warwick. Caring brother of Edward Lloyd Johnson of Marshall, TX and the late Carolyn Aldrich. Cherished grandfather of Brian, Scott, and Haley.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-6 p.m. Gifts in his memory to Odyssey Hospice, 100 Quaker Ln., Warwick, RI 02886, would be appreciated. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org

I'm so sorry to here about George. He was a really nice man. He was always singing and joking with everyone. He will be greatly missed.
