Richard Hawkins Obituary

HAWKINS, RICHARD R. SR., 73, of Greenville Avenue, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at home. He was the husband of the late Beverly A. (Perry) Hawkins.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late William and Gladys (Grenier) Hawkins.

Mr. Hawkins was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a life long resident of Johnston.

He is survived by his children, Jacqueline E. Courtemanche of North Providence, Richard R. Hawkins, Jr. of Cranston, Philip P. Hawkins of Glocester and Daryl L. Hawkins of Johnston, six grandchildren, three brothers, James of Warwick, Raymond G. of Johnston and Thomas F. of West Palm Beach, FL, and a sister, Barbara Shields of Glocester.

Funeral Friday at 9 a.m. from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial with military honors in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Multiple Sclerosis, RI Chapter, 205 Hallene Road, Warwick, RI 02886.
