My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Mr. Mueller was a patient at our dental office. I have woked there for almost 17 yrs. So many patients pass through our doorways, but only a handful make an impression on us like he did. He talked about shopping and where to get the best buys with Cathy at the front desk. He always asked about my husbands hunting trips and would tell me stories about him and his friends going hunting. We talked about gardening and how he loved the turkey's that came through his yard. He would always joke with Dr. Votolato, telling him that if he ran into a problem he'd use a snickers bar to "glue" things in.
I could fill pages with the things we learned from him. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

To "Uncle Bob's" dear family, I have walked the same walk many times with your "Uncle Bob" and had the priviledge of visiting him at his home during the time he cared for his wife. He was a devoted husband and a role model for many. His positive attitude was always an inspiration to me. I will sadly miss our chats, waves, walks and friendship but feel that God took him to his final walk on "roads lined with gold". May you be truly blessed with your memories of your "Uncle Bob". With prayers for you all, Pam

To all that have posted,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your kind words. My family and I have all been truly touched by your thoughtfulness. My uncle touched many lives in his time here and hearing your stories has helped ease some of the pain at his passing.

You have shared your unique stories and interactions with a beloved member of my family. To that end please allow me to share with you a little about Uncle Bob. Uncle Bob, that was his name, to my family as well as to our friends and the members of my father’s church. It always made me smile to hear our friends addressing him as Uncle Bob. He also became well known for a cookie recipe, which will forever be known as Uncle Bob Cookies.

And to Monica, thank you very much for assisting Uncle Bob in his time of need. I had often wondered about the people who helped him that day.

Sincerely,

Carol (Casey) McKenna

We were so sorry to hear of the passing our "Uncle Bob". He was such a warm, caring and gentle soul. My sister Cindy and I have many happy childhood memories of time spent at his house on Harbor Island. Heaven has a new angel. Goodbye Uncle Bob.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Mueller. I will miss seeing him walking, it brought a smile to my face, and I am grateful to have had the occasion to strike up a conversation with him one day when I was on a walk of my own. What a nice, nice man. RIP Mr. Mueller...from a neighbor on Pinecrest Drive

My deepest condolences for your tragic loss. I travelled Snake Hill rd for many years, seeing Bob nearly every day. I knew his route as well as he did. Often our only contact was a wave as I drove by. One day though I had great privilege on one occasion to meet and assist Bob. He had taken a fall on one of his walks and had a cut on his forehead. There were two other women trying to assis him but he just wanted to keep on his walk. Fortunately, I was able to slow him while another neighbor got a chair and a wet cloth. He let me clean his face and comfort him and though he didn't want to wait for rescue, we convinced him to do so, just so he was ok. I will always treasure this moment as neighbors and strangers came together on that day to help a kindly old gentleman who merely went for a walk so often taken... I am deeply saddened that he walked his last walk among us. Perhaps now, he can run if he wants as he celebrates great peace and joy in the presence of the Lord. His final gift to us, his spirit left on the path he walked every day. My peace be yours.
Sincerely,
Monica Ayotte

To the family of Robert Mueller,

I share a daily walk with my dog Figment, and would see Mr. Mueller walking along Route 116 or Pole Bridge Road. He always had a kind word for Figment, and would share his story of how he came to do his daily walk while on injury leave from his job. He was truly a Gentle Man and we will miss seeing him.

May your memories of him bring you peace, Sincerely, Susan

To the family of Robert (Bob) Mueller.

We offer our deepest heartfelt condolences. We know what a wonderful man he was and we share your loss. He will be deeply missed.

To Bob.

We will miss seeing you pass by our home each day, as you have done for many years in every type of weather. We will also miss the opportunity to accompany you on those walks, as we have done on many occasions. We enjoyed sharing that time with you, when we would talk about the weather or the neighborhood, politics or gardening, or just walk along not talking at all. You mostly enjoyed talking about family, your nieces and nephew and their families. I also learned quite a bit from you on those walks, you especially encouraged my gardening the many times you told me that ‘the sweetest tomatoes are the ones you grow yourself’.

You can no longer take those daily walks around our neighborhood, as you are now traveling on a greater journey. A journey, free of earthly troubles, that we all will ultimately take. Until we meet again.

Your neighbors and friends,
Dan and Marie.
