Marjorie Higgins Obituary

HIGGINS, MARJORIE (BENEDICT), 84, of Lakeside Street, died on Wednesday October 22, 2008 at the Evergreen House, East Providence. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Higgins.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Julia M. (Thornley) Benedict, she lived in East Providence for 26 years previously residing in Lincoln.

Mrs. Higgins was a secretary at St. Martha's Church Rectory and a receptionist at Bradley Hospital and The Hallworth House, Providence for many years before retiring.

Marjorie was a member of the St. Martha's Rosary & Altar Society and a minister of Holy Communion.

She is survived by a sister; Mary Kenney of Riverside and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Dorothy Northup, Mildred, Joseph, Raymond and Gordon Benedict.

Her funeral will be held on Friday October 24, 2008 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNER AL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Martha's Church, Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence at 10 am. Burial will follow in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Marjorie's memory to St. Martha's Capital Fund Drive, 2595 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914 or Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be deeply appreciated.
