Peter Mancini Obituary
Born in Providence, a son of the late Peter, Sr. and Theresa (Pontarelli) Mancini.
He had worked at the family owned 'Elm Diner' in Smith Hill. He retired from L. Vaughn Lumber Co. and later from Lincoln Greyhound Park. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, member of the American Legion Post #56, a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 94 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 21.
Father of Denise M. Mancini, Deborah A. Pfefferle and her husband, Charles; grandfather of Kyle, Kevin, Kaitlyn and Kelly; brother of John Mancini, Irene Richardson, Emma Richardson and the late Salvatore Mancini and Anna Richardson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Visiting hours are omitted. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860-9924. Doris, Debbie, Denise, Geraldine and family,
There are no words to describe our sadness in losing our friend and neighbor, Pete. Kind, trustworthy, sweet and special--a good friend especially to my dad. We are truly lucky to know the feeling of having good neighbors, and have to take the good with the bad of having such great neighbors on Bayberry Court. The good is to love all of you, the bad is to now lose Pete. When God in His Commandments said, "Honor thy Neighbor", Pete and the Mancinis and Marcello's listened the best. You are all the best and Pete was and always will be our precious gem. Our family will miss him and remember him forever. He is forever the Patriarch of our neighborhood and is now smiling and watching us in Heaven on God's Bayberry Court. Well, what can I say that you already don't know, Peter was the best, I will miss him as well as many of the people who loved him so much.God has taken him from us,but he now resides with many of the others that are already there.
