Alice McIntyre Obituary

MciNTYRE, ALICE M. (McPARTLAND), 75, of Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, October 26, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in New York City to the late Mary Catherine (Carroll) and Owen McPartland, she was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, George and James McPartland and her daughter, Mary Alice McIntyre.

She leaves to honor her memory her devoted husband, Peter Joachim McIntyre; her daughters, Maureen Brawner of Gales Ferry, CT and Alison McIntyre of Washington, D.C.; sons-in-law, Michael Brawner and Jason Sherman; and beloved grandchildren, Emily, Megan and Kevin Brawner.

Alice was an avid gardener and a domestic goddess. Her greatest joy was her family and her devotion to Mary, who was with her into her final hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 10 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 4-7 p.m. in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
