Mark Deffley Obituary
Born in Providence, he was a son of Michael W. Deffley and his wife Christine (Storin) Deffley of Scituate and Paula (Cavanagh) Charland and her husband William Charland of Scituate.
He is also survived by his beloved children; Kayleigh A., Brendan M., and Brody G. Deffley, and his siblings; Michael J. Deffley of Pawtucket, John P. Deffley of Johnston, David C., Mary H., Scott and James Deffley all of Scituate, William F. Charland of Buffalo, NY, Andrew P. Charland of Milton, MA, Kevin P. Charland of Billerica, MA, and Bernadette Charland of Scituate.
Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 11am in St. Joseph Church, Main Street, Scituate. Visitation respectfully omitted. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Deffley Children Scholarship Fund, in care of any Citizen's Bank Branch. I remember Mark when he was a little boy and through his years in school. He was a great kid. The Gould and Deffley family had the occassion to grew up "side by side" in Scituate for a number of years.

Russ and I were so saddened to hear of the loss of your son. Your family was so wonderful to us when my dad died and his dad took ill all in one day. Thank you Mark for being a shining light of love for all humanity! What a gift it was for Aimee & I to see you at the Art Festival this year! I we'll never forget that great big bear hug, seeing you beaming with love amongst your children and brothers! Thank you for being "the true you" that day! I felt that I needed to go to the art festival that day-I am so glad I did-Mark! We shared a true need, love, and dedication for family! Maybe Grampa Cav made sure Aimee & I saw you that day-Grampa Cav hated "good-byes" so tough to do-and he let it be "easier" on us knowing we feel the same way

We were so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear son, Mark. My daughter, Tammy Russo, went to school with Mark and my son, Michael, played soccer with David. I think I may have even been Mark's bus monitor for a short time. Our heart aches for you all and at this time of sorrow. We recently lost my son (& Tammy's brother), Michael, this past August 2nd to a hit and run driver at the young age of 23. A good friend of ours gave me some words of comfort that we wish to pass along to you. "You haven't lost a son, but you have gained an angel".

Words can't express how sorry I am to learn of Mark's passing. Much time has past since I last spoke with Mark but he always has had a special place in my heart. I enjoyed my talks with him and loved his sense of humor and warm heart! I was and will always be proud to be his Uncle.
