Mary Barrett Obituary

BARRETT, MARY A. (COLEUR), R.N., R.D.H., passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Barrett.

Daughter of the late Ralph and Mary M. (Grimes) Coleur, until recently she was a resident of Pawtucket, her birthplace, and a summer resident of Little Compton.

A graduate of Pawtucket High School (now Tolman), the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse and the Forsyth Institute of Dental Hygiene, Mrs. Barrett was one of the first dental hygienists in Rhode Island. She was a general hospital nurse at Memorial Hospital and the Jane Brown Hospital, a dental hygienist for private dentists and the dental hygienist for the City of Pawtucket School Department clinic.

Mrs. Barrett was an active member of the Memorial Hospital Nurses' Alumni Association, the Royal Travelers, the Red Hat Society and the St. Teresa's Seniors.

She is survived by many beloved cousins and friends.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., where she was a communicant for over fifty years. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. VISITATION will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. www.TrippFuneralHome.com

Sorry for your loss!
We got to see cousin Mary before we left for Florida. The good thing was that she was in no pain.

My thoughts are with the family. Mary was a loving and caring woman,that I had the pleasure of taking care of her while she resided at Waterman's Lake ADL.
