Barbara Gustafson Obituary

GUSTAFSON, BARBARA S. (BUTLER), 73, of Appleton St., died November 3, 2008 in Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence, RI. She was the wife of David A. Gustafson.

Mrs. Gustafson was born in Providence, a daughter of the late James and Marian (Hamill) Butler and had been a lifelong resident of Cranston. She had been an office worker at AIPSO Co. in Johnston for several years until her retirement and was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Cranston.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter Cynthia Barbara Gustafson of Arlington, VA, son David A. Gustafson Jr. of North Kingstown, sister Vernice Burnett of Hope Valley, RI, three brothers, James Butler of Foster, RI, William and John Butler both of Cranston, aunt Elsie Lucier of Cranston and three granddaughters Bethany L. and Kimberly L. Gustafson and Rebecca M. Gimbel. She was the mother of the late Diane Lin Gustafson.

Funeral service in the Bethany Lutheran Church, 116 Rolfe St., Cranston Friday at 11 AM. Calling hours in the Sandberg Memorial Chapel of the Church, Thursday (TODAY) 5-8 PM. Interment in the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown, RI. Should friends desire, donations in her memory to the Bethany Lutheran Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.

Dear Arnie and Family,

Barbara worked with me at AIPSO in the Eastern Region. She made all of us laugh as the department pranisker. I have wonderful memories of the twinkle in her eyes and her smiling and laughing face. She was always missed and remembered. My thoughts and prayers to all.
